Detailed Itinerary

IMPORTANT: The itinerary is subject to change due to the weather, port authorities requests, or other reasons beyond our control. Daily schedules will be confirmed the day before. Guests should expect the schedule to be flexible.

Day 1 : Brunch, beach time, embarkation, walking tour and welcome dinner in Trogir

Hours sailing: 0 hours.
Activity: 1 hour walking tour of Trogir.

Welcome to Croatia!

This morning will put you in the right mood for the week ahead.

We will gather at one of Split’s most fabulous and trendy beach bar, restaurants and club for a morning of summer vibes and clear waters.

Store your bags at the bus and enjoy a welcome brunch followed by beach sun loungers.

Meet your tour mates as you listen to great music and enjoy drinks and food with the best views.

After brunch, grab one of the beach sun loungers and umbrellas and chill in one of the newest pebble beaches in Split.

Take a dip to cool off, order drinks or additional snacks from the beach hut and relax.

In the early afternoon, we will get back into the bus and drive to the Trogir marina to board the ship and meet the crew.

Get your keys, freshen up and meet your travel mates in more detail at our official welcome briefing where we will also run through the week’s program.

When everyone is ready, we will head into Trogir old town for a short walking tour of this Venetian gem and our official welcome dinner.

Trogir old town is a UNESCO-listed walled, island city with a mix of Renaissance, Baroque and Romanesque buildings.

We will go on a short guided walking tour through the old town’s narrow pedestrian streets and squares with a local female guide and our host.

Our official welcome dinner will either be in town or onboard.

We will have our first sample of Croatian food and wine together and say cheers to a fabulous week ahead.

After dinner, you can stay behind in the old town (or take a quick taxi ride there if we have dinner onboard) for a drink or wander.

In summer, the old town comes alive at night when the temperatures cool down.

Inclusions: Welcome cocktail, brunch, sun loungers, umbrellas, towels and water, transfers from the beach club to the marina, and return from the marina to Trogir, welcome dinner with wine.

Day 2 : Brač, Golden horn beach, Bol, winery visit and Vis town

Activity: 45 min walking tour.
Hours sailing: 5 hours of sailing in the early morning.

We will set sail early in the morning so we can arrive in the town of Bol, on the island of Brač, early and have more time to enjoy the town of Golden Horn Beach, if you choose to go there.

We will enjoy breakfast onboard as we sail along the Croatian coast and dock in town.

You will have time in the morning until lunch time to explore Bol on foot or take the tourist train or speedboat to Zlatni Rat, or Golden Horn Beach.

Holden Horn beach is a pebble beach with sun loungers available for rent, several beach clubs, a water park, bars and restaursnts and water sports.

This iconic 1,000-meter white-pebble beach is famous for its shifting shape which changes depending on the wind and sea currents.

Interestingly, this natural marvel was actually created by accident from the runoff of ancient stone quarry works.

Originally called Dugi Rat (Long Cape) by locals, the term “Golden” (Zlatni) actually refers to the rich history of fishing and wine production in the area, rather than the color of the pebbles.

We will meet back at the boat for lunch as we set sail towards the island of Vis.

Vis was Yugoslavia’s central military naval base and remained isolated until recently.

This helped it remain untouched and preserving the original Mediterranean feel that other nearby islands have lost to commercialisation and development.

The islands surrounding Vis have also been declared a UNESCO Geopark because of their natural and geological heritage.

The old town of Vis is compact and stretches along the coast.

Further afield, Vis is dotted with military tunnels and abandoned installations. Rosemary, capers and sage grow wild across the landscape, adding to its quiet, authentic charm.

We will have a brief introduction to the town and then hop on a bus to a family owned and run winery.

We will taste 5 of their wines paired with traditional local snacks such as Viška Pogača, a thousand-year-old dish made of a combination of chopped anchovies or sardines, stewed onions, Mediterranean spices, olive oil and capers.

We will then have a short walk on the vineyards and into the cellar to learn more about the wine production.

We will return back to Vis and you will have free time for dinner, though you will most likely only want a light snack or an ice cream after all the food that came with the wine.

Fun fact: The popular sequel to the Hollywood hit Mamma Mia was filmed on the island of Vis in 2017. On some summer nights, the local open air cinema screens the movie and you can buy tickets on the spot.

Inclusions: Breakfast and lunch onboard, wine tasting and light dinner with wine pairing

Day 3 : Swim stop, Hvar town visit, lavender demo and farm to table dinner

Activity: 1 hour walking tour in Hvar
Hours sailing: 3 hour sailing.

Enjoy breakfast onboard as we set sail towards the island of Hvar.

We will stop for a swim for a few hours to enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Dalmatian coast.

Jump in the water, have a swim, use the paddle boards, relax with a noddle or chill on deck at one of the sun loungers or the jacuzzi with the best views.

At lunch time, we will continue our sailing towards the old port of Hvar, the longest and sunniest island in the Adriatic, known for glorious lavender fields and breath-taking beauty.

Hvar has become the jet set and party destination in the Dalmatian coast, and boasts both luxury hotels as well as lots of night clubs and bars to dance the night away.

We will dock at port in the afternoon and go on a short walking tour of the old town that will end at a lavender store where the female owner will tell us more about the cultivation and extraction of pure lavender oil.

Lavender cultivation came to Hvar about 100 years ago and the whole process is entirely done by hand due to the rocky and steep hills the plant is grown.

You will have the chance to learn more about this beautiful flower, its proven medicinal properties and it’s wonderful smell. If you wish to, you can also buy pure lavender oil.

The port town of Hvar is compact and popular and it includes the 13th-century walls, a hilltop fortress with incredible views over the town and coast and a main square anchored by the Renaissance-era Hvar Cathedral that is the largest in Dalmatia.

We will then transfer to the central fields of Hvar for a wonderful, organic, farm to table dinner among the fields of carob, olive and fruit trees.

A mother and daughter duo left the corporate world and have turned this agricultural land into a wonderful example of tradition and fresh food presented in shared platters and finger foods for you to try.

We will feast on freshly prepared, homemade dishes of Hvar specialties including picked herbs, olives, anchovies, cheeses, octopus, baked eggplant and so much more.

The evening will start with a toast with home made rakia liquor and continue with herbal waters and wines enjoyed in a privileged location inside a UNESCO protected landscape.

This will be a heart warming evening you will not forget.

After we return from dinner, you will have free time to wander the streets of Hvar, do some shopping or have a drink at one of the many buzzing bars.

If you feel like a walk, there is a long coastal walk winding along the shore from the old town that is the perfect post-dinner stroll.

Inclusions: Breakfast, lunch onboard, farm to table dinner inside the biosphere reserve. Walking tour of Hvar and lavender workshop.

Day 4 : Swim stop, Korčula town visit, coral jewelry, medieval tower drink

Activity: 1 hour walking tour.
Hours sailing: 3 to 4 hours of sailing.

Get up early for a coffee on deck as we sail towards Korčula, one of the prettiest islands in all of Dalmatia.

We will stop on the way for a swim stop with the usual options of swimming, snorkeling, stand up paddle boarding or relaxing on deck, the jacuzzi or the sea.

If we are near a beach, the crew can also take you on shore.

We will have lunch onboard and continue sailing towards the island of Korčula for a walking tour with two stops are female owned stores: a coral jewelry store and an innovative crayon shop.

Korčula is one of the best preserved medieval cities in the Mediterrean. The fishbone street pattern was used in the design of Korčula Old Town for a natural cooling effect, and it provides citizens with sheltered and comfortable accommodation.

Coral jewelry is a popular souvenir from Croatia but most of the items are made from imported coral. Not this one.

Irena is a third generation coral jeweller and her store opened in 1990, the first one in Korčula and second in Croatia.

She will explain us how the coral is harvested and how jewelry pieces are made in her store and you will have the chance to buy necklaces, earrings and other statement pieces in the traditional coral colors ranging from white to coral pink.

We will also stop at an innovative crayon store that sells tear shaped crayons that are not only beautiful but also delightful to hold and use.

After our walking tour ends, your free time starts.

Have a glass of wine at a female owned wine bar, wander the pretty streets of the old town, pick a sea facing spot for dinner or even have one more dip in the sea.

Your evening is free to enjoy on your own.

Inclusions: Breakfast and lunch onboard, walking tour of Korčula, visit to jewelry workshop and crayon store.

Days 5 : Swim stop, Mljet National Park

Activity: Optional biking, kayaking or hiking in Mljet National Park. 20 min walking, half of the time uphill stairs
Hours sailing: 3 to 4 hours of sailing in the early morning and lunch time.

We will enjoy one more panoramic breakfast with the best views as the boat sails towards our morning swim spot.

Enjoy the usual swimming, stand up paddle boarding, noddle floating or jacuzzi.

If we are near the shore, take a dinghy to explore the beach or island. Read a book on deck, sun bathe and relax.

At lunch time, we will sail towards the town of Pomena on Mljet Island, a small island that is primarily covered by Mljet National Park.

This seasonal park is the perfect spot for an active afternoon.

Its story centers around two deep saltwater lakes, Veliko Jezero and Malo Jezero, and the 12th-century Benedictine Monastery situated on a tiny islet within the Great Lake.

Local folklore holds that Mljet is the mythical island of Ogygia, where the nymph Calypso held the Greek hero Odysseus captive for seven years. You can hike to a seaside cave (near Babino Polje) that matches Homer’s descriptions.

In 1151, the Pope granted Mljet to the Benedictine Order from Apulia, Italy.

The monks built a monastery and the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on St. Mary’s Isle in the Great Lake. The monks maintained the monastery until it was closed in the 19th century during Napoleon’s occupation.

Today, Mljet National Park is a protected area and is a wonderful forest-covered Mediterranean natural landscape, perfect for a more active afternoon if you feel like it, or a relaxed swim spot.

We will walk the short, steep and slippery stairs to the first of two salt lakes and get an intro into the options available for the afternoon.

Rent bikes or electric bikes and cycle the 12km loop around the main lake, rent kayaks, take a swim in the warm waters of the lakes or take the ferry to the island monastery where there is a bar.

You will have the afternoon free to choose your own adventure, and we will meet again in the evening for the Captain’s dinner onboard.

Dress up as much as you like for a four-course gourmet meal.

Inclusions: Breakfast, lunch and dinner onboard, Mljet national park entry fee.

Day 6 : Swim stop, Oyster and mussel farm, Ston visit

Activity: 30 min walking tour of Ston.
Hours sailing: 1 hour of sailing in the morning.

We will set sail again in the early morning and enjoy one more breakfast onboard.

Our morning stop will be near the mainland, next to an actual sandy beach that will be a change from the pebbley and gravel beaches of the rest of the Dalmatian coast.

Enjoy a dinghy ride to the beach, or swim off the boat. Take one of the stand up paddle boards, go snorkeling or chill on deck.

We will start sailing at lunch time towards the Pelješac Peninsula an doc at Slano.

We will get on a bus and drive towards the old fortified town of Ston for a boat ride to a floating oyster and mussel farm for a demo and tasting with wine and rakia.

The demonstration will include explanations on why the oysters and mussels here are different from anywhere else and how they are harvested and grown.

Taste the oysters and mussels, dip bread into the delicious sauce and sip the local wine while enjoying the wonderful breeze and surroundings.

After the visit, we will return to Ston and take a brief walking tour of the old fortified city and salt pans. Salt was more expensive than gold in medieval times as it was used to preserve food, and Ston was a valuable enclave thanks to it ancient salt production, still done the traditional way until today.

Every summer, salt is harvested by hand from the salt pans just like it used to be done before.

You will have free time to climb up the 14th century walls for stunning panoramic views of the salt pans and the town below.

We will return to the boat and you will have free time for dinner on your own, for another dip on the beach in Slano or a walk along the coast.

Inclusions: Breakfast and lunch onboard, oyster and mussel farm visit and tasting, brief walking tour of Ston.

Days 7 & 8 : Swim stop, Dubrovnik walls cruise, walking tour, cable car and farewell dinner

Activity: 1 hour walk to The Baths.
Hours sailing: 8 hours of sailing overnight.

Enjoy your breakfast onboard as usual as we set sail towards Dubrovnik and stop for a brief swim in the morning.

We will have lunch onboard as we take on a panoramic sail along the city walls of Dubrovnik and dock at the marina.

We will get on the bus and drive to the cable car station for a ride up the hill above the city and enjoy incredible panoramic views.

Take photos, enjoy the views and soak it all in.

We will continue down to the city center for a walking tour and visit to a couple of art galleries.

Dubrovnik is a postfcard-perfect coastal city in southern Croatia, widely known as the “Pearl of the Adriatic”.

It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its perfectly preserved medieval Old Town and massive stone walls. its popularity exploded after it served as a filming location for Game of Thrones.

You will then have a bit of free time to explore Dubrovnik on your own and we will return to the boat to freshen up before dinner at a spectacular fine dining restaurant on the city walls.

Our hosts Mar & Nika

This trip will be hosted by Solo Female Travelers co-founder, Mar Pages who is also the person in charge of designing our itineraries at Solo Female Travelers, and our Croatian host Nika, who has been hosting our Croatia and Montenegro tours since 2023.

Nika was bitten by the travel bug at a young age when her mother, who worked in the travel industry, took her on “girls only” trips. She continued exploring on her own in her late teens and has so far been to around 50 countries on 5 continents.

She has lived and worked in the USA and Italy and has always had jobs which involved traveling or working from different locations, including film location scouting and production for famous series’ like Game of Thrones.

Over 10 years ago Nika decided to become her own boss and focus primarily on the travel industry.

Since then, she’s worked as a freelance guide for a couple of international companies and created many custom made tours and retreats.

There is nothing more powerful than travel – the knowledge and the skills you get after each trip become part of you so you continually upgrade and discover new layers of yourself.

The team will also be accompanied by one of our professional photographers who will capture candid shots that will be shared with the group at no extra cost.

Will I get sea sick?

If you are prone to sea sickness, we recommend booking one of the cabins on the lower level and talking to your doctor before the trip to take the necessary precautions and seasickness medication.

Our yacht is not a cruise ship and as such, is not as stable. The waters around Croatia are calm so you should expect the boat to sway with the waves while sailing, but not dramatically. However, the weather can be unpredictable and winds do often pick up.

What is included in the trip?

This trip includes all the activities on the itinerary, daily breakfast and lunch and several dinners as specified in the inclusions section. Water from the water dispenser and snacks are avialable onboard. Transportation to all activities is also included.

Can I have a cabin to myself?

If you wish to have a cabin to yourself you can book one of the single cabins above which will have a double bed with 2 separate single duvets and will only be occupied by one guest. These are limited, and available on a first booked basis.

I want to bring my family, partner or child to the trip

This is a female-only small group trip specifically designed for women traveling on their own. If you wish to travel with a female friend that is welcome, but we regret that male travelers are not allowed. Young adults from 16 – 18 years of age are allowed as long as they are above the age of 16 and accompanied by a parent or guardian. The legal age to be served alcohol onboard the ship is 21.

Will the onboard team be female?

Our local partner is an equal opportunity employer and a female owned and run business with several women in positions of power. Some of the crew members will be women, including the bar staff, house keeping and the cruise coordinator. However, the captain and sailing crew are male.

What should I pack for this adventure?

This trip happens during the summer months and as such, will enjoy hot, sunny days. As we will spend all mornings sailing, at the beach or swimming, appropriate clothing will be required. On shore, light summer outfits will be best.

We will share a recommended packing list before the trip.

What travel and medical insurance should I get?

Travel and medical insurance is mandatory to come on the trip and we recommend you get comprehensive coverage that includes sailing and water sports. Check Travel Insurance Masters to compare policies and coverages and pick the right one for you.

What happens if I get sick?

The prospect of getting sick in a foreign country is daunting, more so if that happens on a ship or on a small island. If you need medical treatment, we will escort you to the nearest medical facility so you can get adequate treatment.

Can I make various instalments for this trip?

Please reach out to us for instalment plans. After the 30% deposit has ben paid, you can pay the balance at your convenience before the final due date.

There is WiFi onboard at no extra charge. To access the internet on shore, you can purchase a roaming plan, a local SIM card or an eSIM.

What is the food like onboard the ship?

Breakfast onboard consists of an international buffet style meal with various cooked and uncooked options including cereals, yogurts, breads, fruits, pastries, sausages, scrambled eggs, cooked vegetables, cheeses and cold cuts. Hot beverages such as coffee and tea are also available.

Lunch will be a la carte or a buffet spread with Croatian and international dishes depending on the day and schedule. Dinners onboard will be a la carte.

Are vegans and vegetarians catered for in this trip?

Vegan, gluten-free and lactose free diets cannot be accommodated on this trip. Vegetarian diets may be accommodated depending on the specific requirements, please reach out to us before booking to discuss. We regret that severe dietary restrictions or allergies cannot be catered for.

Do I need a visa for this trip?

This trip happens entirely within Croatian borders and most North American and Australian passports do not need a visa. If you need a Schengen visa, we can help provide the necessary documentation to apply for it.

What is the fitness level for this trip?

A moderate level of fitness is required for this trip, especially to move about inside the boat’s many stairs and decks and to get on / off the boat by crossing several other boats that may be stacked together. This is how sailing in Croatia is organized and cannot be avoided.

All the walking tours on each island happen in old, cobblestoned city centers that are often slippery, uneven and hard to navigate for those with limited mobility or agility.

As the trip takes place during the summer, temperatures will be high and humidity could be too. This trip is therefore not suitable for those who can’t tolerate or who don’t do well in the heat.
