Tours for women in Tanzania

Tanzania is one of the best safari destinations in Africa. It has something for everyone, from the roof of Africa at the top of Mount Kilimanjaro to the balmy beaches of Zanzibar and the best safari destinations for a first visit. This is why we chose it for our bucket list women only tours.

All our trips to Tanzania are guided by local and female guides.

  • Our safari trips are hosted and led only by local women, we do not employ male driver-guides. We are the only tour company in Tanzania offering exclusively female hosted safaris. Others claim they do, but they don’t. And when you arrive, they’ll tell you the promised female guide is sick or had an emergency.
  • We have been working with the Tanzania Women Guides Foundation, started by our lead guide Glory, since 2021 to fund the training and official certification of local women so they can become guides. Once they are certified, we hire trainee guides to join our tours alongside our more experienced guides, so they can get on the job experience without which, other large companies will not hire them.
  • Our Kilimanjaro climb is the only in the country that is fully staffed by female guides. We also employ women for at least 60% of our porter positions and we are working hard to achieve 100%.

Since we started in 2021 we have helped train 30 new mountain guides and employed over 100 female porters on Kilimanjaro. More women are joining Guiding school and the workforce every quarter. It fills us with immense pride and joy to have been able to help train over 20 safari guides to date, completely changing the landscape of guiding in Tanzania.

We are committed to our mission of empowering women through travel and are helping change the travel industry in Tanzania to become more welcoming and equitable for women. Join us on this journey and be a part of the change by booking one of our women-only safari + Zanzibar trips of a lifetime!
